Daniel  Krewson

CAS/CFA’29 Undeclared

Hello! I’m Daniel, and I’m glad that you’re interested in Kilachand!

I’m originally from West Chester, PA, a quaint town about an hour west of Philadelphia. Here at BU, I don’t actually have a declared major yet, and I’m considering lots of different paths; currently, I’m leaning towards Music and Philosophy. Because of this, I’ve explored a wide array of subjects, like chemistrybiologymathematics, and the aforementioned philosophy and music, and I intend to keep exploring! If you’re in a similar spot with lots of different interests and are curious about how BU (and Kilachand especially) can help you explore them, I’d be happy to help and provide some insight.

Outside of classes, I love making music; I sing in BU’s symphonic chorus, chamber choir, and Marsh Chapel choir, and I’m an experienced pianist and an amateur organist. I’m an outdoorsy guy and I adore the Charles River Esplanade, so you’ll frequently catch me there on an early-morning run or a walk with friends. I love to read both fiction and nonfiction (I’m a big fan of Tolkien), and I like reading and writing poetry as well.

I’ve lived in a suburb my whole life, so moving to a big city school in Boston has been a profound shift for me. It’s definitely been intimidating and difficult, but it’s also been very exciting to branch out and experience so many more new places, people, cultures, and interests. I’ve loved exploring the city and surrounding area. If you’d like any recommendations, the New England Aquarium, the Museum of Fine Arts, and Middlesex Fells are all fantastic, and the world-class Boston Symphony Orchestra has student tickets for only $5!

Regardless of whether you end up here in Boston or elsewhere, my biggest piece of advice is to explore shamelessly, in as many ways as you can. Undergrad is full of opportunities, and I know firsthand that it’s easier said than done, but try to challenge yourself to take advantage of as many of them as you can. It might be uncomfy, but be open to things new and old – that’s what college is for!

Shoot me an email! I would love to get to know you, share my thoughts, talk about any questions or curiosities you may have, and help you out however I can.
