Kaylin Torres
CAS/SAR’26 Linguistics and Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences
Hi everyone! My name is Kaylin Torres (she/her) and I am a junior joint majoring in Linguistics and Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. I was born in Brooklyn, New York but grew up in Bogota, New Jersey. *sad because I can’t wear my Yankees merch here :’)
Aside from being a Kilachand Ambassador, I am a part of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA) and Mixed Student Union. Also, I work as an Operations Assistant for the Student Wellbeing‘s Food Pantry, a Productions Assistant for the College of Fine Arts School of Music, and a Reading/Math Tutor at the Hurley K-8 School for Boston University’s Initiative Literacy Development.
In my free time, I love reading! Some of my favorite books include: “Eleanor & Park” by Rainbow Rowell, “Holding Up the Universe” by Jennifer Niven, and “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan. I love watching movies too! My comfort films are “Mamma Mia!,” “Singin’ In the Rain,” “Freedom Writers,” “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997),” “White Chicks,” and “McFarland, USA.”
Being a part of the close-knit community that embodies Kilachand has been one of the most amazing experiences I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of, and has made the freshman scaries a thousand times easier. If you have any questions or just want to talk about literally anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I would be happy to chat!
