Video: Punit Shah (SHA ’02), 2017 Commencement Speaker

The Boston University School of Hospitality Administration was pleased to welcome Mr. Punit Shah as its 2017 Convocation Speaker on Saturday May 20, 2017.

Mr. Punit Shah, not only a friend of the School and active member of its Advisory Board, is a distinguished alumni of the School of Hospitality Administration Class of 2002. In 2015, he and his wife, Carla Shah (SHA ’05), were each awarded the School’s “2015 Young Alumni of the Year”.

Punit Shah is the Chief Executive Office of Liberty Group, a hotel investment and development firm based in Tampa, Florida. He oversees investment and management of Liberty Group’s properties throughout the United States including Hilton, InterContinental, and Marriott brands.

His commitment to the hospitality industry and his local business community has been recognized many times over. He received the Florida’s Governor’s Enterprise Award and Florida Business Review’s “Under 40” and Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. He is also just one of 25 worldwide owners to serve on the Global Board of Directors for InterContinental Hotel Group Owners Association.
