Computation and digital data are sweeping over every area of research at BU. While some fields, such as physics, have been applying computational techniques for decades, others, such as archaeology, have barely scratched the surface. For researchers across BU, the quantity and availability of digital data is increasing at a ferocious rate.
The Institute is committed to supporting a growing cadre of scientists who think computationally, and who can apply a growing body of analytical techniques in solving hard research problems. Growing these capabilities also provides an unparalleled opportunity to affect the productivity of all scientific research at BU. We are achieving these goals via:
- Extramural Sponsored Research: Institute-led research funded by external agencies and resources.
- Incubated Research: Projects seeded by Hariri Research Awards granted to Institute Faculty Affiliates. Learn how to apply for these awards here.
