Marketing and Communications Manager, Boston Women’s Workforce Council
Originally from Austin, TX, Joana has close to a decade of experience in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. Joana joined the BWWC as Marketing and Events Manager in December 2018. Since then, she implemented a rebranding strategy, revamped the organization’s website, produced 5 member events, and added one community event, expanding the organization’s reach to millennial women of color.
Previously, Joana served as the Manager of Marketing and Communications at Mass Mentoring Partnership where she managed brand strategy, media relations, and developed digital campaigns for public policy initiatives to increase funding for youth development programs. She also served with the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy as a brand and social media strategist to make the foreign policy landscape more equitable and representative of all voices. With a diverse background in education policy, workforce development, youth development, and tech, Joana is driven by her belief that women’s rights are an economic imperative for the prosperity of all nations. Currently, she sits on the Women in Development’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Joana received her B.A. in International Relations from St. Edward’s University.
