Jihye Jeon is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the College of Arts & Sciences, and a Junior Faculty Fellow of the Hariri Institute at Boston University. Jeon’s research is in the field of industrial organization and is aimed at understanding markets characterized by imperfect competition and information frictions. Her recent work investigates the role of demand uncertainty in cyclical investment fluctuations in the container shipping industry. She also studies the effects of policies that simplify health insurance choice when consumers face complex product characteristics and may have to choose how much time and effort to spend researching their options. She received her B.A. in Economics from Yale University and her Ph.D. in Economics from New York University Stern School of Business.

Research Interests: industrial organization, competition, dynamic oligopoly, information frictions
