Dr. Benjamin Brush is a neurocritical care specialist at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Brush specializes in treating patients with critical conditions, including large strokes, brain bleeds, persistent seizures, spinal cord injuries, and severe autoimmune conditions affecting the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles. Additionally, he provides care for patients before and after significant neurosurgeries.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in various research projects aimed at advancing the field of neurocritical care. Prior work included studying the basic mechanisms of brain circuits that control breathing, developing multimodal brain-machine interfaces for paralyzed patients, and conducting spinal cord injury research to restore movement. Currently, he is leveraging breakthroughs in large language models to harness new data types to ultimately develop predictive algorithms for optimizing care for patients with severe strokes.
He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
