Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh completed his undergraduate studies at Bates College in Lewiston, ME, where he double majored in Neuroscience as well as the History and Criticism of Art and Visual Culture. At Bates, Michael’s academic interests involved interdisciplinary studies examining the processes our brain undergoes to provide an aesthetic appreciation of a visual experience. He also participated on the varsity swim team at the Division 3 level and worked as a Behavioral Technician, serving the surrounding community. Michael’s senior thesis was completed under the guidance of Michelle Green, which examined the temporal dynamics of aesthetic processing versus functional processing in the perception of flat image.

He is a Clinical Research Assistant with Boston University’s Memory and Aging Clinic with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ARDC). In this role, his responsibilities include the administration, scoring, and reporting of comprehensive neurophysiological assessments given to patients with various neurodegenerative disorders. Michael also serves as the patient coordinator, facilitating multifaceted itineraries including patient interviews, blood draws, head imaging, and neurological exams. He also assists with the HOPE study, providing neuropsychological assessment and assisting in the coordination of biomarker collection.
