Ben Lawson

Ben Lawson (Class of 2018) graduated from the College of Arts & Sciences with his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in computer science through the CAS/GRS combo program. He was highly involved in two projects during his time at BU Spark!, and one of the projects was sponsored by Microsoft to explore chatbots’ usage in different business settings. The projects in BU Spark! helped Lawson to think critically of all the different possible solutions and prepared him to complete his overall task. He said: “I really enjoyed my time in the program and I wanted to give back.” Lawson is now back at BU Spark! to be a mentor to post-grad students in their startup incubator course.

Ben Lawson is currently employed full-time as a senior quantitative analyst at the WarnerMedia Applied Analytics, and he was part of the BU Spark! an initiative at the Hariri Institute for Computing at Boston University, where it’s mission is to promote discovery and innovations through the use of computational and data-driven approaches. BU Spark! aims to help student-driven innovation in computer science and engineering. For more information about the BU Spark!, please visit http://www.bu.edu/spark/.
