XSEDE Summer Boot Camp
As a Campus Champion of XSEDE (National Science Foundation’s Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment), BU is a remote site for the 3rd annual XSEDE Summer Boot Camp.
This 4-day workshop introduces the major tools used in writing parallel programs for multi-core computers, clusters, and GPU accelerators. Topics including MPI, OpenMP, and OpenACC, will be taught through lecture and hands-on exercises. Skills learned through this workshop can be used on the numerous national supercomputing resources provided through XSEDE as well as on BU’s Shared Computing Cluster (SCC). Following the workshop there will be a special hybrid-computing contest that will challenge the students to apply their skills over the following 3 weeks and be awarded the Third Annual XSEDE Summer Boot Camp Championship Trophy.
