Licensed Psychologist
Clinical Associate Professor of Pastoral Psychology
George Stavros is a licensed psychologist who trained at the Danielsen Institute (1994-1999) and has been working at the Institute in various capacities since 2004, serving as Executive Director since 2009. His vocational journey as a clinician started at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, where coursework, mentoring, and the rhythmic spiritual life of Eastern Orthodox Christianity helped guide him towards doctoral studies in pastoral psychology at Boston University. He spent six years (1998-2004) working as a psychologist at Two Brattle Center in Cambridge, the final four of those years serving as Director of the Evening Intensive Outpatient program. His clinical work has focused on adolescents, young adults, couples, and clergy, and he counts himself fortunate to have worked and supervised in clinical training settings throughout his career. He values the opportunities his work at the Danielsen affords him to continue to explore the close connection between mental health and spirituality.
