Speaker Series Fall Lecture: Dr. Miguel Gallardo

The current sociocultural and sociopolitical realities require that mental health professionals re-envision and re-examine our personal and professional responsibilities.This presentation will address why cultural humility matters, how implicit biases impact our lives, and how to engage in more meaningful cross-cultural dialogues with those seeking services and with peers. This includes dialogues where we may have different perspectives which make us and the other person uncomfortable and which can trigger painful experiences. It is hoped that attendees will gain expanding perspectives in which they see themselves and others.
