Activity Breaks from FitRec
Summer 2025
Take a break and get moving with FitRec’s Activity Breaks! Designed specifically for BU faculty and staff, these offerings provide opportunities to stretch, breathe, dance, climb, and explore—whether indoors, remotely, or in the great outdoors. From guided movement sessions to rock climbing nights and invigorating hikes, there’s something for everyone, no matter your experience level. Join as many activities as you like and discover new ways to refresh your body and mind.
The registration deadline for the following classes is Friday, Friday, May 16 at noon. You will receive a zoom link from the instructor prior to your first class. If you would like to sign up after the registration deadline, please email Ramelle Adams for instructions.

Morning Yoga, Wednesdays, 7-8am
May 21 – August 6 (No classes Wednesday, July 2)
Instructor: Jessica Pate
This morning yoga class consists of breath-work, myofascial release, self-massage, mobility work, strengthening, and stretching. Based on the needs of the class, there will be a theme which is explored and then incorporated into both yoga postures and a thoughtful flow.
Evening Zumba, Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30pm
May 21 – June 25
Instructor: Raul Nieves
Zumba is described as a Fitness Party! This class is a great cardio workout that features fast paced music and easy to follow dance moves!
Stretch and Breathe, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:20-12:50pm
May 20 – August 7 (No classes on Thursday, June 19, Tuesday, July 1, Thursday July 3)
Instructors: Tuesdays – Jessica Pate, Thursdays – Aysegul Ergin
Come together remotely for a relaxing half hour of stretching and breathing exercises. Modifications will be offered for different levels and for space limitations.

This evening yoga class builds mind-body connection through the practices of breath-work and mobility exercises to bring a balance of both strength and flexibility. Class will incorporate both flow and more thoughtful, subtle exploration of how to build better balance and ease throughout the body.
