Hi! My name is Jerry (he/him) and I’m double majoring in Architectural Studies and Sociology. I love hanging out at the BUCK because of the community that it supports. It’s a space where students and staff can bond over having to fix a flat tire, adjusting squeaky brakes, or needing an escape from academia. For me, it’s also the space that allows the Urbanism Club at BU to thrive. It’s hard to imagine if the Urbanism Club would be what it is today without the BUCK. On that note, my favorite moments on a bike have been those that I get to share with other people. Whether it’s about going for an Esplanade bike ride with my best friends or if it’s riding with hundreds of others at Critical Mass, what’s so special to me about biking is its power to build community. In a time where everything is meant to divide us, I’ve seen how biking has the power to rekindle our shared human spirit. I hope to share that power with the world.
