Take a “Happy Terrier Walk” This Spring
This Spring, Student Wellbeing and the BU Fitness and Recreation Center are delighted to resume their outdoor walking program – Happy Terrier Walk! And, the walks are just in time for Earth Day 365! What a great way to get out in nature with some friends.
When Yael Rudelman (CAS ’26) came to Student Wellbeing with an idea last Fall, we were excited to make it come to life! Led by Sonya Nguyen (SPH ’24), Graduate Assistant for Programming, Happy Terrier Walk invites current students to meet on Marsh Plaza at appointed times to enjoy a leisurely walk on the Esplanade. Each walk is intended to help students meet new people, keep moving, appreciate the beautiful scenery adjacent to our campus and feel the stress-reducing effects of going on a walk with a friend.
Walks will run on a weekly basis on Fridays from 1 - 2 pm:
-Friday, March 29; 1 pm; meet on Marsh Plaza
-Friday, April 5; 1 pm; meet on Marsh Plaza
-Friday, April 12; 1 pm; meet on Marsh Plaza
-Friday, April 19; 1 pm; meet on Marsh Plaza
-Friday, April 26; 1 pm; meet on Marsh Plaza
Please register for the Walk Roster so we can notify you of any changes or updates to Friday walks!

This Student Wellbeing initiative uses tea as a catalyst for mindfulness. Part education/part relaxation, this weekly workshop explores the ancient practice of “gong fu cha” – also known as “making tea with skill” – and highlights various types of single-origin teas, teaware, tea terroir, tea producers, brewing techniques, and the science behind the leaf.
Each session will foster a space that focuses on the power and simplicity of the present moment, as well as hands-on brewing engagement.
Workshop offered Mondays, from 4-5 pm, at the Howard Thurman Center, 808 Commonwealth Avenue. Register each week for that week's session. If this week’s session is full, keep checking back as registration is posted on a weekly basis.

Break Time? De-stress at the Student Wellbeing Experience
Play Games, relax in a hammock, and enjoy free food at today's event at the GSU.
“We’re social creatures and going through something like finals, it’s just inherently stressful,” says Pedro Falci (COM’11, Wheelock’15), director of Student Wellbeing. “So, there’s something communal about getting to share that burden with fellow peers and talk it out. Taking a break now before that stretch really kicks in to recharge your physical batteries, your mental batteries, and emotional batteries.”
