SPH Snapshot April 20-May 1.

Despite a cooler than normal spring, the tempo of campus activity ticked upward in late April ahead of the end-of-semester crunch.

The BUMC Earth Day Festival returned to Talbot Green on April 20 with a variety of booths demonstrating ways to live and work with sustainability in mind.

Asari Offiong (SPH'13), at left, is presented with an Outstanding Service Award from the Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence. Sophie Godley introduced Offiong and presented the award at the Annual Alumni Award and Networking Reception. Offiong went on to earn her PhD from Johns Hopkins and is currently a Research Scientist at Child Trends.

Jordana Frost (SPH'18) receives an Outstanding Service Award after a stirring introduction by her former doctoral mentor, Gene Declercq. Frost earned her PhD from SPH and is currently Director of Strategic Partnerships at March of Dimes.

With better weather as April turned to May, the lawn chairs on Talbot Green are prime spots for socializing.
Scenes from the week on campus, including a visit from the folks at BU Sustainability showcasing green options for daily living; thriving Maternal and Child Health alumni recognized for their contributions to the field; and a welcome return of spring to close out the month.
