Transgender Rights Advocacy Activities.
This November, Massachusetts voters will face the first-ever statewide popular vote on protections for transgender people from discrimination. The referendum would repeal the state law (Bill S.2407) that protects transgender people from discrimination in public places, including restaurants, stores, and doctors’ offices. Full transgender equality is the law in Massachusetts now. When presented with the question of whether to continue to treat transgender people as equal members of the Commonwealth this November, the Activist Lab thinks we should all vote YES. Our community values dignity, equality, and respect for EVERYONE in Massachusetts regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. To that end, we are planning a series of advocacy activities to support Freedom For All Massachusetts’ Yes on 3 Campaign on BU’s campuses and beyond.
