Activist Fellowship Application 2019-2020.
The Activist Lab sponsors the Activist Fellowship Program, an opportunity for up to 2 students/academic year to engage in activities related to advocacy or contributing to meaningful change on a public health topic. We will be seeking candidates for two positions for Fall 2019 through Spring 2020.
Application FormFellows will work on the following projects:
- Improving public health infrastructure in Massachusetts (“Regionalization”)
- To Be Determined (look for an announcement later in summer 2019)
The Regionalization Fellow will be selected by the end of June, allowing sufficient time for international students to apply and follow appropriate administrative procedures (see below) to begin work in Fall 2019 through Spring 2020. The Activist Lab will post a second position by late Summer on a different topic. That Fellow will be selected in early Fall.
Note: The Fellowship activities themselves will not yield credit. However, the Fellow will essentially receive a tuition scholarship. The Fellowship cannot be counted as the student’s Public Health Practicum.
Eligibility criteria:
- Matriculated prior to Fall 2019 (cannot be selected in student’s first semester)
- In good academic standing
- U.S. citizen, or appropriate employment authorization documentation:
International Students: in order to be able to apply for the Fellowship, international students must apply for OPT (optional practical training) authorization through ISSO. As this process must begin 90-100 days prior to beginning the internship, if the student selected for the Fellowship is not a US citizen, he/she must apply for OPT during summer 2018. (Students should contact Caleb Felder (617-353-5198 or wcelder@bu.edu) for specific instructions.) - Completion of the application form
