Sophie Godley to Present Student-Centered Activities and Teaching Strategies During Webcast.
The Association of Teachers of Maternal and Child Health (ATMCH) will host a webinar on March 15 from 2 – 3 p.m. Eastern titled “Student Centered Learning Modules in the Maternal and Child Health Classroom.”
Sophie GodleyDuring the webinar, ATMCH Innovative Teaching Grant recipient Sophie Godley, clinical assistant professor and director of undergraduate programs in the department of community health sciences at BUSPH, will present the student-centered activities she has developed to solidify and apply concepts in maternal and child health education for graduates and undergraduates. Activities include teaching tips, guidelines, tools, and suggested teaching strategies focused on key learning objective and concepts.
Student-centered learning is considered to be the most effective mechanism for teaching and learning practical skills and abilities and provides students with an opportunity to practice new skills and receive immediate feedback from instructors and peers.
The webinar will feature an overview of the 10 detailed learning module activities that have been developed as well as information on how to access the materials for future use through ATMCH.
