Message from Leslie Kolterman, assistant dean for development and alumni relations: I am delighted to announce that Michael “Mike” O’Brien has joined the School of Public Health fundraising team as Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Officer, effective Monday, June 18th.

mike_obrienMichael O’BrienMike holds a BA in business from Boston University and received his MBA from the University of Florida.

He has worked at Catholic Charities since 2009 as a marketing and development manager where, among other responsibilities, he managed a community-interpreter service that generated $1.4 million in annual revenues. He also represented Catholic Charities by running the Boston Marathon in 2010 exceeding his personal fundraising goal by 185%.

Prior to that he was an account manager at Thomson Financial and Bacon’s Information, where he earned a reputation for his adept management of extremely difficult clients.

Mike lives in Newton with his wife Rachel, who is also a BU grad and a nurse, and their 20-month-old son, Charlie.
