Insider Calendar Now Has Color-Coded Categories.

July 2, 2012
Twitter Facebook

From Kara Peterson, director of communications and marketing:

Thanks to Chris the calendar now has categories! The categories are:

  • Academics (teal)
  • Admissions (blue)
  • Alumni (pink)
  • Around BU (red)
  • Career Services (bright green)
  • Dissertation Defenses (yellow)
  • Faculty Development (brownish red)
  • Faculty/Staff Meetings (salmon)
  • Practice (light green)
  • Public Lectures/Seminars (purple)
  • Scholarship Deadlines (gray)
  • Student Life (orange)

VIEWING EVENTS:

The colors mentioned above show up when you hover over a particular event. They have no special meaning, just a way to differentiate categories.

You can view just one category of events by selecting from the drop down here.

Please note that when you switch to the next selection (week, month or whatnot) the calendar will default back to displaying all categories. This is a software issue we cannot control (sorry).

ENTERING EVENTS:

When entering an event please make sure to designate a category. If you are not sure which one to choose please contact me or Chris. Also, events can only have one category.

We have added categories to all the upcoming events currently in the calendar.

I hope these changes will make things easier for folks.
