Help Boston University School of Public Health Fight Hunger During the Can Share Drive.

November 26, 2012
Twitter Facebook

BUSPH has registered to participate in the 26th Annual Boston Can Share, an annual food drive sponsored by Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Hunger, FedEx and The Greater Boston Food Bank.

Hunger affects everyone. Many of you have friends, family or neighbors who continue to struggle in this difficult economy.  Some have lost jobs and are anxiously hoping to find work as their unemployment benefits wind down; others may be struggling with foreclosure, as well as feeding their families. We are asking your help because they need your help- now more than ever.

We will be collecting cans and dried goods to restock the shelves of The Greater Boston Food Bank after the holidays. Please contribute by donating the following:

  • Proteins such as canned tuna fish, salmon, chicken, turkey, beef stew, canned nuts, peanut butter and canned meats
  • Canned beans and peas
  • Fruits and vegetables including canned juices and dried fruits
  • Milk, either evaporated or powdered
  • Pasta, oatmeal, cereals, rice and canned soups
  • Please DO NOT bring perishable foods, baby food, baby formula or glass containers.

There are currently drop boxes located in the lobby of the SPH Talbot Building and at the SPH Reception Desk in Crosstown, located on the 3rd floor.
Donations will be collected until Wednesday, December 5th.

For more information, contact Andrea at atingue@bu.edu.

Thank you!
