Get Ready for the 12th Annual BUSPH Valentine’s Chocolate Bake-Off.

February 9, 2012
Twitter Facebook

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 Board Room, Talbot 3

Leonard Glantz, Head Judge

All Bakers Welcome!

Follow these entry rules:

All entries must have some chocolate in them: white chocolate is acceptable (despite the protests of purists), but carob is not.

Entries will be divided into five categories: 1) Cakes 2) tarts/pies 3) cookies/brownies 4) other confections 5) guilt‐free. Multiple submissions by one baker are acceptable.

Sign up in your local kitchen or e‐mail Chris Paal (cpaal@bu.edu) with your name, the name of your entry, and the category you are entering in by Friday, February 10, 2012. Specify if your entry contains nuts or milk products or is gluten‐free. Each submission will be assigned a number.

The judges will award a first prize in each category. There will be the “Not Just a Passing Glantz” and Vox Populi awards.

Since this is a serious, double‐blind competition, don’t tell your colleagues what you are making. Please bring your entry to the Board Room by 11:30 AM arranged just as you want it presented with the proper utensil for serving it. Please put your name on the bottom of your dish.

Judging will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Exact timing depends on the stamina of the judges. At 1:00 PM, the contest entrants will be admitted and winners announced. At about 1:30 PM the doors will be flung open to admit the masses.

Please plan to pick up dishes and utensils from the Talbot 3 kitchen later in the day.
