Commemorating World AIDS Day: Perspectives from Roxbury, Russia and Rwanda.

Join BUSM’s Global Health Equity Program and the Center for Global Health and Development as we mark World AIDS Day with reflections from Dr. Mardge Cohen, Dr. Karsten Lunze and Reverend Franklin Hobbs.

Dr. Cohen is a physician at Boston Healthcare for the Homeless who has extensive experience in HIV clinical care and research on gender based violence and women living with HIV in both Chicago and Rwanda. Dr. Lunze was a fellow at BUSM’s Clinical Addiction Research and Education Unit. His research explores the intersection of addiction and HIV in Boston and in Russia. Minister Franklin Hobbs is founder of Healing Our Land, a ministry to facilitate a collective faith-based effort to address HIV/AIDS and other issues affecting the African American community. Rev. Hobbs has led HIV prevention and support programs at Dimock Community Health Center and Victory Programs, and was instrumental in the declaration of a State of Emergency for HIV/AIDS in Boston in 2005.
