Join us in welcoming Dr. Kathryn Macapagal, PhD, an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences, co-director of the THRIVE Center at the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing at Northwestern University, and co-director of the Developmental Core at the Third Coast Center for AIDS Research. For over a decade her research has focused on sexual and gender minority adolescent sexual health, with a focus on LGBT-inclusive sex education, HIV prevention, HIV testing, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Currently her work focuses on 1) examining the role social media and technology play in sexual and gender minority adolescents' sexual health, romantic relationships, and identity development, and 2) youth-centered design, implementation, and dissemination of multimedia and technology-enabled HIV prevention programs. Her work is funded by grants from NIH, Chicago Department of Public Health, and the Alphawood Foundation. The RSVP form for in-person attendance has closed.
