Dear BUSPH Community,

I am writing to announce that our Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations, Jacoba van Heugten will be leaving BUSPH, with her last day January 10, 2025. Jacoba will be relocating to assume an exciting philanthropic role with a global think tank.

Jacoba has been a remarkable leader of our DAR team over the past eight years, playing a pivotal role in advancing BUSPH’s mission through her dedication to fundraising, engagement, and building lasting connections with alumni and friends across BU. She has more than doubled our philanthropic revenue and donor portfolio, through establishing robust engagement with our more than 11,000 alumni and friends worldwide. Her vision and efforts have significantly strengthened our school’s foundation, and we are deeply grateful for her contributions.

During this transition, Jackie Bowes and Kim Graham will continue leading special events, fundraising, and engagement initiatives. Jacoba has graciously offered to remain available to support me and ensure a smooth transition, as Jackie Bowes and Kim Graham assume the additional responsibilities noted above.

We thank Jacoba for her exemplary service to BUSPH and wish her great success in this next stage of her professional journey.
