One student group even produced a promotional video for their non-profit.

Students raised funds for Hands Across the Sea, a group working to improve child literacy in the Caribbean; Edesia, a nonprofit producer of ready-to-eat foods to combat malnutrition; Accordia, a global health foundation training African medical care leaders; Educate 2 Envision International, supporting educational programs in Honduras; Bikes Not Bombs, promoting bicycle technology as a vehicle for social change; Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, which provides counseling, case management, and advocacy services; and the Boston Medical Center Complementary and Alternative Medicine Clinic for refugees and asylum seekers.

“What a fantastic group,” Michelle Vickery said about her fundraising team. “Everyone was so hard-working and that really made it a successful night.” Her team raised $1,238 through a special event with live musical performers and prizes. “Fundraising was a great experience,” agreed Daisy Marchena. “I learned a great deal.”

Over the past five years students have raised $21,455 in cash and an additional $24,866 in donated vitamins to benefit charities.
