Hosted by BU Foundation Relations

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) supports innovative basic research into fundamental biological problems with an emphasis on novel and interdisciplinary approaches and scientific exchanges across national boundaries.

Through faculty research grants and postdoctoral fellowships, HFSP supports scientists both within and outside the traditional life sciences (e.g., chemistry, computational biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, nanoscience, physics), in order to develop new collaborative approaches for understanding the complex structures and regulatory networks that characterize living organisms, their evolution, and interactions.

Almut Kelber, PhD, director of research grants, will describe HFSP’s mission, funding programs, and application and review processes. BU’s Daniel Segrè, PhD, professor of biology, will describe his experience as a recent recipient of HFSP funding.
