On May 27, 2022, Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, took part in a webinar on the Summit of the Americas taking place June 6-10, 2022.
The event, hosted by the Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile, was titled “Summit of the Americas and regional crisis: challenges and opportunities.” Heine was joined on the webinar by Cynthia Arnson, Distinguished Fellow at the Wilson Center, and Juan Gabriel Tokatlian, Vice-Chancellor of the Torcuato Di Tella University – Buenos Aires. The Summit of the Americas brings together heads of state and government representatives from countries of the American continent. During this meeting, ideas and agreements of interest to visiting countries will be shared to support communities in vulnerable areas of the continent such as education, economy, and social support. In this context, the Institute of International Studies organized a webinar to explore what issues will be covered during the Summit and how they will shape multilateralism on the continent.
