Zachary Sherman (Pardee ’24) Joins BU’s Young Alumni Council
Pardee alumnus Zachary Sherman recently joined the BU Young Alumni Council as a member. Currently based in New York and working as a credit solutions broker, Zachary believes his education at Pardee was instrumental in preparing him for his career in finance. Grateful for his experiences at the school, he stays in touch with his former professors and peers, who continue to inspire. Through his new role on the Young Alumni Council, Zachary has found a renewed sense of purpose in giving back to the Pardee community. We caught up with him for a quick Q&A to learn more about what this new chapter means to him.

What motivated you to join BU’s Young Alumni Council?
I joined the BU Young Alumni Council because I wanted to stay involved with the university and give back to the community that shaped me. My time at BU played a huge role in my personal and professional development, and I’m grateful for the opportunities and connections I made as a student. Being part of the alumni council allows me to remain connected after graduation and help support current students and recent graduates as they navigate life after BU.
What does your role as a member of the Young Alumni Council entail?
As a council member, I help organize and attend alumni events, promote alumni engagement, and serve as a resource for recent graduates. We work together to strengthen the BU network by connecting alumni from different backgrounds and supporting initiatives that foster community and professional growth.
How do you see the Young Alumni Council making an impact on recent Pardee graduates?
I believe the Young Alumni Council can have a meaningful impact by offering recent Pardee graduates a way to stay connected to BU and each other. We provide networking opportunities, career support, and a sense of community that can help graduates transition smoothly into their professional lives and remain engaged with the university.
What are you most looking forward to as a member of the Young Alumni Council?
I’m most excited about meeting and collaborating with other BU alumni. Connecting with people who share a common bond with the university is always rewarding, and I look forward to contributing to projects and events that strengthen our alumni community.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering joining the Young Alumni Council?
Definitely apply! The council is made up of alumni from a wide range of backgrounds, and we’re always looking for new members who want to help grow and support the BU network. It’s a great opportunity to expand your connections, develop leadership skills, and give back to the university.
