Pardee School Dean Meets With Alumni in NYC

The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University welcomed a group of its New York City-based alumni now working in a variety of sectors at a dinner and conversation with Dean Adil Najam on February 28, 2019.

The New York City gathering brought together about two dozen Pardee School alumni, to hear about developments at the Pardee School since its establishment in 2014, and the school’s future plans. A number of alumni from 1991-1992 were present, as were those from later years. They included alumni  now working in different sectors, including finance and investing, law, nonprofits, human rights, marketing, consulting, communication, and more.

The gathering was co-hosted by Pardee School Dean’s Advisory Board member, Adam Smith (Pardee ’93). Rob Novembre (Pardee ’91), a new member of the Pardee School Dean’s Advisory Board, was also in attendance.

Najam outlined the current structure and future plans of the Pardee School and many alumni expressed pride and surprise at how much it has grown since they were part of its predecessor units. The discussion included a brainstorming session where they shared ideas about how alumni can help the Pardee School achieve its goal of becoming a leading school of international affairs and global studies.

Najam thanked the gathered alumni for their support and asked them to act as ambassadors for the school. He asked them to reach out to other alumni in their networks who might have graduated before the Pardee School was established, but are all very much part of the Pardee family. “Help us raise the Pardee flag high,” he asked.
