Pardee School Invites Applications for Faculty Positions
The Frederick S. Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for three new faculty positions. The Pardee School faculty is dedicated to improving the human condition through rigorous interdisciplinary education, path-breaking research and innovative initiatives to make a real-world difference in the critical challenges humanity faces.

1. Assistant Professor (Tenure Track): The BU Pardee School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We seek applicants who have done substantial empirical work on the Role of Gender in international relations, international development, or global affairs. Among the issue-areas in which we have particular interest are human development, human security, and human rights. We welcome applications from scholars in any relevant discipline, including international relations, sociology, political science, economics, geography, anthropology, and history, and are open to all methodological approaches and regional specializations. Candidates who have demonstrated policy expertise are especially encouraged to apply.
2. Professor of the Practice (Non-Tenure Track): The BU Pardee School invites applications for appointment as Professor of the Practice of Global Development Policy, non-tenure track. The successful candidate will be a distinguished practitioner who has worked at high levels in a major international organization, development agency, or non-governmental organization. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work has focused on core issues facing developing countries, including poverty, inclusive development, environmental degradation, climate resilience, infrastructure, and resource dependence, the Sustainable Development Goals, or who have expertise in NGO management, development finance, project management and/or development policymaking. We welcome regional expertise in any part of the world.
3. Professor of the Practice (Non-Tenure Track): The BU Pardee School invites applications for appointment as Professor of the Practice of Peace and Security, non-tenure track. The successful candidate will be a distinguished practitioner who has had a high-level policy career in government (including military), international, or non-governmental organizations working on issues such as military and defense planning, conflict resolution and prevention, peacekeeping, or humanitarian and emergency assistance. Issues of particular interest include security policymaking, military strategy and operations, peacekeeping and conflict resolution, and emerging strategic challenges (e.g., cybersecurity, WMD proliferation, non-traditional security threats).
