Journalist Delegation Visits the Pardee School

A group of journalists from Pakistan, now on a US State Department sponsored study tour of the United States, visited the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, on March 29, 2016. The group spent the entire day at the Pardee School and heard multiple speakers from the Boston area on different topics. The study tour on “Democratic Transition and the Media” is managed by the Hawaii-based East-West Center.

Amongst the experts who spoke to the group was Adil Najam, Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, who discussed challenges related to sustainable development, global climate change and environment. 

Najam’s lecture focused on climate change, the environment and sustainable development in Pakistan, South Asia and across the world.

The group included journalists from Daily Express Peshawar, Daily Mashriq Peshawar, Dunya Television and other media outlets.

Other stops on the tour include Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia.

Also in attendance at Najam’s talk were Dr. G. Shabbir Cheema of the East-West Center, Liz Dorn of the East-West Center and Gaitee Akhtar Hussain, Urdu Interpreter at the Department of State.
