Kevin Gallagher, Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, said after a $65 billion loan to Venezuela, China is now in danger of overexposing themselves as falling oil prices have hampered the Venezuelan economy.

Gallagher was quoted in a February 16, 2016 article on CNN Money entitled, “China’s Big Bet on Latin America is Going Bust.”

From the text of the article:

“They’re now giving loans to protect their previous loans,” says Boston University professor Kevin Gallagher, an expert on China-Latin America. “They’re so overexposed in Venezuela.”
