Students Gather for an Evening of Qahwa & Calligraphy
On October 22, the Arabic Society hosted Hajj Wafaa, an Arabic calligraphy expert, at the Pardee School of Global Studies to teach a class to members of the Boston University community. With food and coffee being served and plenty of laughs being shared, students were able to learn about the history of Arabic calligraphy and even practice their calligraphy skills. Hajj was also kind enough to offer each student his or her name written in Arabic.
The event was hosted by the Arabic Society, a student-run organization at BU, with support from the Institute for the Study of Muslim Societies and Civilizations and the Arabic Program.
