MET Students Become Finalists in Society of Actuaries Research Competition on Strength of Self-Driving Vehicles Report

MET Master of Science in Actuarial Science students Tianyou Gao, Xiaorong Wan, Rongxiao Zhang, and Qingke Zou, along with faculty advisor Glen Patashnick, made it to the final round of competition in the Society of Actuaries 2019 Student Research Case Study Challenge. Their project, “Autonomous Vehicles—Insurance Development Report,” examined the market for self-driving automobiles as well as challenges that might present themselves. It is the first time in the school’s history that Boston University has made the competition’s final round, which is comprised of only seven finalists.
