MET Actuaries Named Semi-Finalists in Nation-Wide Case Study Challenge

A group of students from the Metropolitan College Actuarial Science graduate program were named semi-finalists in the 2016 Student Research Case Study Challenge.

The Society of Actuaries competition, which, according to SOA Managing Director of Research R. Dale Hall, sought to highlight “a wide variety of actuarial methods to predict and quantify future healthcare industry adverse disruptors,” saw dozens of submissions from universities worldwide. MET’s five-student “Money King” group included Xingyu Wei, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Actuarial Science degree program, with veteran MET instructor Yifei Wang serving as faculty advisor, and Barbara Posnick, a health insurance actuary and part-time BU instructor, giving additional feedback and guidance.
