Mr. Douglas C. Chamberlain, MET ’74, GSM ’76.

Mr. Chamberlain is CEO of Appleton Partners, Inc. and a founder of both Appleton and Cambridge Appleton Trust N.A., which manage assets for high net worth individuals, corporations, foundations, and pension and profit-sharing plans in 45 states and abroad. In addition to his work with the company’s Board of Directors, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of Appleton Partners, Inc., sits on the firms’ Fixed Income and Equity Investment Committees, and chairs the Planning Policy Committees. Chamberlain’s investment career spans over forty years, from the Old Colony Trust Division of the First National Bank of Boston, to the Industrial National Bank of Providence R.I., and later at two Boston-based wealth management organizations—all before co-founding Appleton.

Douglas Chamberlain has been actively involved with BU on the Advisory Board at the Graduate School of Management with the founding and development of the Master of Science in Investment Management (MSIM)—the first graduate program in the U.S. to be designated a Partner with the CFA Institute. Throughout his career, he has been involved in academia as executive speaker, advisor and mentor. Chamberlain now sits on the boards of Franciscan’s Hospital for Children, Bay Cove Human Services, Opera Boston, and the Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Museum, in Brunswick, ME. He received both degrees at BU: a Bachelor of Applied Science from MET in 1974 and a Master of Business Administration two years later at the Graduate School of Management.
