Thomas Nolan, a criminal justice professor at Boston University and retired Boston police officer, said the Hull schools might have done the parents a favor by not getting police involved right away.
“What I would say to the parents is be careful what you wish for,” he said. “When the allegation (of sexting) is raised, school officials should make a good-faith effort to find out whether or not this has gone on. The only way for them to find out would be to ask the students for their cell phones.”
