How to Pay
Tuition and fees must be paid in full by the payment deadline to avoid late fees. Staff at Student Accounting Services are available to answer any questions you might have regarding payment options, and we will do our very best to ensure that your payment process is smooth and convenient.
Boston University accepts the following forms of payment:
- Electronic Payment
- Personal Check, Money Order, Traveler’s Check
- Wire Transfer
- Credit Card Payment (part-time students only)
Payment Plans
Students enrolled on a part-time basis may postpone payment of a portion of their tuition until a predetermined date. A minimum down payment and a nonrefundable enrollment fee are required at the time of enrollment.

Payment Deadlines
There are different payment deadlines for on-campus and online students. Please review the Student Accounting Services schedule of all payment deadlines.
Payments must be received by close of business (5 pm EDT) on the day of the deadline.
For individualized and up-to-date information regarding your student account, please visit MyBU Student.
- Select “Financials” from the navigation menu on the left side of the page, then “Student Account Balance” to see the amount owed to the University and to access the Nelnet Payments and Refunds button (upper right-hand corner of the page) to make a payment or access refund information.
- From the Financials menu, you can also select “Student Account Details” to see all charges and payments on your student account.
Late Fees
For payments received after the payment deadline, late fees may be assessed. Visit Student Accounting Services for updated information on late fees.
Tuition Refunds
