MET Senior Lecturer Dr. Megan M Trainor Wins Henry Morgan Award at BU’s 2026 Innovators’ Night as MET Student Takes 3rd among New Ventures
At Metropolitan College, budding visionaries get the education they need to become thriving entrepreneurs—and they get it through the support of faculty who know how to make a difference. Innovation is central to the mission, and that commitment was on display on Wednesday, April 15, as MET was well-represented at Innovate@BU’s Innovators’ Night 2026—a celebration of entrepreneurship across Boston University.
That evening, Administrative Sciences Senior Lecturer Dr. Megan M Trainor was named this year’s recipient of the Henry Morgan Award, in recognition of her mentorship and ongoing support of students pursuing futures in innovation. Dr. Trainor, whose lasting contributions to entrepreneurship at BU, MET, and the innovation ecosystem make her invaluable to students, has taught business and marketing for more than fifteen years, and brings a deep background in sales, management, and marketing strategy to her classroom.

The night’s main event was the New Venture Competition—a recognition of student entrepreneurs whose business plans stand to make an impact. BU MET MS in Financial Management student Brian Namnoum (MET’26) took home third place in the contest, owed to the venture he developed, Attorney Alert, the legal-tech platform connecting criminal defense clients with defense attorneys and law firms in real time. One of 10 finalists for the prize, Namnoun won $6,000 in funding.
Other MET students presented their projects to the awards. Andrea Catania (MET’24), who focused her MA in Gastronomy on food policy, cofounded EquiTable, a nonprofit dedicated to making the food system more just. Also in attendance was Yash Seth (MET’26), a cofounder of LET, the sustainable clothing enterprise that uses old tennis racket strings to manufacture high-purity yarn that can be woven into new clothing.
