He/Him

The emergence of patterns from the chaos of the world is a minor miracle that plays out around us every day. Through mathematics, we can begin to make sense of these patterns and the mechanisms through which they form. This study of pattern formation in an applied context is exactly the domain of research I find myself drawn to.
My current research project focuses on models for the formation of stripes on the surface of Zebrafish. My hope is that by extracting concrete results regarding the behavior of these models, the degree to which they accurately describe the real world may be quantified and improved.
