Ben a 4th year Ph.D. candidate at Boston University in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He completed his B.S. in Mathematics and Physics in 2022 at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and received his M.A. in Mathematics in 2024 from Boston University. His research interests include Pattern Formations, Dynamical Systems, Nonlinear Waves, and Coherent Structures. He is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation under advisement from Ryan Goh.
Ben is the BU American Mathematical Society Chapter President and an Organizer of the Directed Reading Program and is regularly a mentor for this program. He co-organizes the Graduate Student Dynamics Seminar and serves as a Mathematics and Statistics representative for the BU Graduate Student Organization. He has also worked as a PROMYS Pathways Math Circle Facilitator at local community centers. Ben was recognized with the Outstanding Teaching Fellow Award for the 2024-2025 academic year.
He is one of the department union stewards for SEIU Local 509 and one of the three graduate students representing BUGWU on the Joint Labor Management Committee regarding the Graduate Student Help Fund. He was recognized with the Steward’s Award at the Local 509 Annual Meeting in 2024.
