The library maintains a core collection of hornbooks, major treatises, and other legal resources in the reserve area behind the Fineman Circulation Desk on the second floor.
Additional materials are placed on course reserve each semester as requested by law faculty. To find materials on course reserve, please use the advanced search option on BU Law Libraries Search.
Members of the BU community are welcome to browse and check out the law library’s reserve materials. Reserve materials may be borrowed for three hours to be used in any of the library spaces and may be renewed for additional three hour periods if not requested by other users. Select reserve materials may be borrowed overnight if checked out less than three hours before library closing.
Materials in the reserve collections are heavily used by law students and others in the BU community. We ask all patrons to return reserve materials by their due times. Patrons with overdue reserve materials are subject to late fees at the rate of $5/hour during hours that the library is open. For more information, please see the library policies.
Requesting Law Materials for Non-Law Course Reserves
Faculty outside of the BU School of Law should request materials through the reserve branch of their departmental library; they will obtain the requested material directly.
