Social Factors and Underrepresentation, with a focus on women in STEM

Event Description: In this conversation, Professor Margaret Beck will explore some of the factors that impact underrepresented and historically excluded groups, such as implicit bias, imposter syndrome, microagressions, and intersectionality. The talk will draw both from research in these topics as well as Professor Beck’s personal experience as a mathematician.

Professor Beck is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Mathematics Instruction in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Boston University.
