Maria Karamourtopoulos, RN

CAS ’17 Registered Nurse and DNP Student

After graduating from BU, I worked as a clinical research coordinator at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on projects focused on improving shared decision-making between providers and older adults regarding cancer screening and treatment. I then matriculated in the Graduate Entry Program at The University of Massachusetts Medical School Graduate School of Nursing. In the first of this four year program, I completed coursework necessary to become a registered nurse. I now work as a clinical support nurse at Winchester Hospital Center for Cancer Care working with both oncology and hematology patients. I also work per diem at Newton Wellesley Hospital as a cardiac/telemetry registered nurse. In 2024, I will graduate with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice as a board-certified nurse practitioner trained in adult/gerontology primary care with a concentration in oncology.
