Katherine Guo
CAS’27 Mathematics
Hello! I’m Katherine Guo, a student in the class of 2027 studying pure math, with minors in physics and piano performance. I am from New Jersey (like a billion other BU students, for some reason).
Being in KHC has made me feel inspired to do things and curious about subjects I would never have considered otherwise. I still remember the special first-year seminars: they are unlike any other class you could take, and I can’t imagine how else I could have developed an interest in urban design. KHC also hosts co-curricular events, inviting a diverse range of guests for speeches and activities, and it’s hard to not feel the energy in the air when a jazz trio is playing live.
My various hobbies include studying Latin and Polish, worldbuilding (often in the context of tabletop roleplaying games), making crafts to give friends, and, of course, practicing the piano. I am also a co-president of the Mathematics Association at BU, as well as a board member of Kilachand’s own Writer’s Corridor, a literary club. Being encouraged by KHC to simply try things out in my first year definitely led me to cultivate this diverse array of interests!
I hope you’ll come to love Kilachand and BU as much as I do! Feel free to reach out with anything; I’m excited to see you all!
