Faith Sheehan
Wheelock‘27 Education & Human Development
Hi! My name is Faith Sheehan (she/her) and I am in the class of 2027 majoring in Education & Human Development with a concentration in Child & Adolescent Mental Health! I’m from Long Island, NY but grew up in Queens, NY. In my free time, I love to read, play board games, watch the BU hockey games, and explore Boston with my friends!
On campus, I am a 2nd-year RA in Warren Towers as well as a member of the BU Helping Hands for the Homeless club, BU Project Sunshine, and BU Hearts for the Homeless Club! Within Kilachand, I am both an ambassador and peer mentor.
Moving to Boston from NY was definitely a big change for me, but it was such a great opportunity for a fresh start. I love being in a city that isn’t too overwhelming but still with so much to explore! BU itself has taught me so much about myself but KHC offered a community that helped make the transition to college so seamless! Living and learning with other first years from a range of majors introduced me to so many interesting people who were so passionate about what they do and so excited to be a part of KHC just like I was. The seminar I took during my sophomore year through KHC, (RH103 A Reexamination of Childhood through Children’s Literature and Community-Based Learning) actually helped me to realize I wanted to switch my major to Education! We learned about how the stories, fairy tales, and novels we read growing up have influenced the beliefs and conceptions we have to this day. In this class, we involved ourselves in the Boston community through a community-based learning project. KHC has offered such a refreshing learning environment for me and I would love to be of help to anyone considering to be a part of it, so please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!”
