Elliott Weinstein

CAS ’16, SPH ’17 PhD Student

I am a fourth-year graduate student pursuing my PhD in Clinical Psychology – Health Major Area of study with a concentration in quantitative analysis at University of Miami. I graduated with a BA in Art History and Psychology from Boston University and Kilachand Honors College and completed my Masters in Public Health from Boston University in 2017. My interdisciplinary research explores the intersections between mental and physical health among marginalized groups living with or at increased susceptibility for HIV. Informed by theories like minority stress, intersectionality, and syndemics, I employ qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate how structural and psychosocial factors influence aging trajectories for older adults living with and without HIV. Clinically, I have completed practicum placements at both the Bruce Carter Miami VA Hospital and the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and I serve as a couples counselor for the OurRelationship program.
