Nandini Cheruku
I am interested in running for KLAB because it will allow me to advocate for my peers. KLAB would enable me to help drive positive change that will benefit current and future students. KLAB will also provide me with hands-on leadership experience by collaborating with other students and organizing events, while teaching me how to communicate effectively with everyone. Being a part of KLAB will allow me to create an even more inclusive community and a welcoming environment where lasting bonds can be made.

I really like planning fun events and I believe there’s a lot of opportunity for KLAB to allow the honors college students to not only connect with each other but also with the city of Boston and its community.

I consider KLAB a platform to voice students’ opinions and to work for their welfare. Having been a part of my school prefectural board for seven years, I’m appreciative of the significant role that a student body like KLAB plays in shaping the opinion of the fellow students as well as the administrators, as also of the constant effort such leadership roles entail.
As the school Head Boy in my final year, I relished undertaking the efforts needed first to build a cohesive team, and then constantly finding ways to keep it motivated to achieve goals. The experience gained from mentoring and organizing my fellow students for MUN in my middle school years came in handy. Beyond routine academics, I founded and led an environmental student volunteers-run not-for-profit based in Dubai that recycles electronic waste. It has molded me into a team player open to diverse perspectives and innovative solutions. I also run a community engagement not-for-profit with a school in Malawi. Exploring my various interests at BU student clubs as a freshman has strengthened my belief in wanting to take up responsibilities with deeper involvement in student activities.
I eagerly look forward to bringing my skills and insights to KLAB. I hope to make meaningful contributions to its ongoing efforts and be a useful member of its inclusive environment.

As someone who ran for KLAB representative last semester, my continued interest still remains strong. I feel after this past semester I have truly connected with so many more people in Kilachand and now that I have gotten to know them more on an individual level, I have grown to want to help this community even more. Coming from a public high school (of about 500) with a small International Baccalaureate cohort (of about 40), I experienced firsthand the value of strong peer connections fostered through our shared experiences. As president of my high school’s IB Association, I organized events such as dodgeball tournaments, “Cocoa and Cram” sessions, and karaoke nights, initiatives designed to bring students together and strengthen community bonds. Even though being in IB was stressful at times, I always enjoyed any opportunity to be around IB kids because of how close we all were with one another. Obviously BU is a rigorous university, but a primary reason why when I toured Kilachand I instantly knew it was the place for me, was because I saw that same potential for close connections and community. Thus, my love for this program as well as my commitment to wanting to make it better are why I am interested in running for KLAB.

I think that KLAB would be a wonderful way for me to get further involved in KHC, support my peers, and improve KHC for all! Throughout my first year in KHC, I’ve grown to love the friends and community I’ve gained, I’d love to give back to this community by being a strong and determined leader making positive change within our honors college.
Meredith Rizek
I want to help Kilachand be a more fun and active community. Getting more involvement from all our members would make everyone’s experience at BU and KHC better. I also want to help make people’s lives easier whether that be something like the toilet paper access or something new. I did lots of work like that as president of my student government in high school and want to continue working for my community.
Aditi Singh
My first year at Kilachand was enhanced by the college-wide events that brought our community together, and I truly felt that student voices were being heard. Moving forward, I would be honored to help strengthen that student voice and continue building an inclusive, connected Kilachand community. Through experience serving as both president and treasurer in organizations like HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and Key Club (volunteer based organization), I gained skills managing budgets, organizing events, and advocating for my peers’ interests, learning how to lead with both creativity and responsibility. I am excited to bring that same energy and initiative to KLAB in communicating student concerns, planning meaningful events, and working alongside fellow representatives and faculty to make a lasting impact. I am ready to listen, collaborate, and contribute fresh ideas that reflect the needs and hopes of Kilachand students.

I absolutely love KHC as a school and as an organization. I truly think the way the honors college fosters community and inclusion is phenomenal, and I wish to be able to represent that while also bringing new ideas to the table of how we can improve Co-Curriculars, fun activities that create a safe space, and events.
